If I’m a visitor to Saudi Arabia, Could you tell me how to plan for my trip

If I’m a visitor to Saudi Arabia, Could you tell me how to plan for my trip?

If someone asks me that as a Saudi woman, I prefer to introduce him to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commonly known in English as Saudi Arabia.

It is the largest country in the Middle East by land area. It is bordered by Jordan and Iraq on the N and NE; Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates on the E; Oman on the SE and Yemen on the S. The Arabian Gulf lies to the NE and the Red Sea to its W.

Saudi Arabia has an estimated population of 25.7 million of which 5.5 million are non-citizen.

Riyadh is the capital of Saudi Arabia but there are two other famous cities. Makah and Madinah are the two holy cities in Islam because of the holy Mosque in Makah which is called (AL haram Almaky) and the holy Mosque in Madinah which is called (AL haram Alnabawy).Because of that, The kingdom is sometimes called (The Land of the Two Holy Mosques) and the king of Saudi Arabia is called (Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques).

Saudi Arabia's government takes the form of a monarchy and that is the reason why they call it the kingdom.

In 1932, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was founded by Abdul-Aziz bin Saud. Upon his departure king Abdul-Aziz was succeeded by his sons who assumed the ruling duties in the kingdom. The kings sons are King Saud, King Feisal, King Khalid, King Fahad and our present king, king Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz.

The flag of Saudi Arabia is the flag used by the government of Saudi Arabia since March 15, 1973. The flags’ color is green featuring a white Arabic inscription and a sword. The script on the flag is written in the Thuluth script (Thuluth is a type of an Arabic font). The Arabic inscription is the Shahada or the Islamic declaration of faith (There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah).

The Saudi Arabia national emblem according to the Saudi Constitution consists of two crossed swords with a palm tree. Swords symbolize justice and the palm tree symbolizes growing up.

The primary source of law is the Islamic Shariah derived from the teaching of the Qur’an and the Sunni (The traditions of the Prophet).
Up to now, everything I said is about the Saudi Arabia but, if you are a visitor to Saudi Arabia or if you are planning to travel to it. What are the places that you should visit? What kind of clothes do you have to bring?
Many questions will come to your mind I hope by this presentation I can answer them.

Saudi Arabia's geography is dominated by the Arabian Desert and associated semi-deserts.

The Asir region is different in that. It is influenced by the Indian Ocean monsoons, usually occurring between October and March. This weather takes you directly as a visitor to Asir. So, let’s discover it.
Asir is a province of Saudi Arabia located in the SW of the country. The English geographer Philby described Asir as, (the very backbone of Arabia) and he liked all the natural beauty of the landscape. The mountains provide outstanding sporting activities like paragliding, hang-gliding, rock climbing and mountaineering. They are all professionally supervised. So, if you are an athlete, Asir will be your destination.
What if you prefer sea sports more than outdoor sports? Do not worry I know the right city for you.

Jeddah... Which is called (the Bride of the red sea).It is located on the coast of the Red Sea. The beauty of Jeddah is that you will have fulltime fun there. In the morning, you can play many sea sports such as sailing, riding a jet ski and diving. Many more than i can list it here.

It is noon time and you will be starving. To be a hungry is not a problem, the problem in Jeddah is where will you eat? There are all types of the restaurants in Jeddah, from junk food to healthy ones. Also, there are different types of prices and many of specialty cooking like Arabian, Asian, Italian even American.

In the afternoon, shopping time. Again shopping is not a big deal but where? 70 malls is the number of malls that are in Jeddah and the choice will be up to you.

After a long day in Jeddah, you will definitely need a place to attract you. King Fahd's Fountain. Also known as the Jeddah Fountain. It is the tallest water fountain in the world, located in the coast of Jeddah and listed with the ten most beautiful fountains around the world. It jets water 312 meters above the Red Sea. The fountain's lights were turned off in support of Earth Hour 2010.

By the way, I forgot to mention the Cornice of Jeddah. You have to be there at the end of the day, and why is that? Let’s see.

All 5, 7-stared hotels and spa located there. Imagine...you will be there…Facing the red sea…Seeing the sunshine for a new awesome day.
One more thing about Jeddah. It is the second biggest city in Saudi Arabia... Am i saying second? So, What is the first? What is the biggest city in Saudi Arabia?

It is the capital of Saudi Arabia...It is Riyadh...Where I grew up.
Riyadh is located in the center of Saudi Arabia. Also, it is the location for foreign embassies, universities, and banks. But, as you are visitors I will not discuss its economic and political side. At first, Riyadh looks like a boring city but that is not true.

In January 1902 the young prince Abdul-Aziz who was later the first king of Saudi Arabia succeeded in capturing the Masmak fortress. This event has acquired almost mythical status in the history of Saudi Arabia. Today the fort is one among several buildings that form the King Abdul-Aziz Historical Center, a series of restored buildings in Riyadh. The building received some important renovation in the 1980s, and became a museum in 1995. The museum includes a display on many antique guns and costumes.

Riyadh also has an important library. The King Abdul-Aziz Public Library. It was established in 1985 and it was officially opened by King Fahad on February 27- 1987. There are many goals for the library but the most important goal is to serve as the site for international and Saudi research and study.

As you are women visitors, I will not forget to talk about shopping again.
Riyadh has the biggest shopping center in Saudi Arabia such as, The Kingdom Center also called Al MamlakaTower.Besides the shopping mall, AL-Mamlaka Tower contains the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh. AL-Mamalka Tower was the winner of the 2002 Emporis Skyscraper Award, Selected as the "Best skyscraper of the world for design". Also, The Al Faisaliyah Center is a commercial skyscraper located in the business area. There is a shopping center with major world brands. The Al Faisaliyah Center is about 267 meters high and consists of 44 floors.
Finally, Air travel is the only way to move easily around our country because Saudi Arabia is a very big country with large spaces.

Also, I want to mention September 23 was the national day of Saudi Arabia. It commemorates the unification of Saudi Arabia under one king.
The great end of this presentation will be the national anthem of Saudi Arabia words.
Hasten
To glory and supremacy,
Glorify the Creator of the heavens!
And raise the green flag
Carrying the written light reflecting Guidance,
Repeat: God is the greatest!
O my country!
My country,
Live as the glory of Muslims!
Long live the King
For the flag
And the homeland[/COLOR

Great job sweetie "clapping" I'm pretty sure your presentation was amazing
but if you just attached the pictures that you were projectoring, it would be more interesting
I noticed that you wrote the abbreviation of the words "South, north, east and west" is it allowed for you to abbreviate the words in such a formal assignment?
cuz we're not allowed to
Anyway,

Great job! so did they ask you any questions when you were done?
i'm glad that you had this presentation done particularly in the US..I highly respect americans, but they can be very ignorant when it comes to the middle east, especially saudi arabia..
and when i mean ignorant, i don't mean that they don't know a thing about it, but rather have a preconcieved notion that saudi is all sand and desert, all men being oppressive, all women wear viels but skimpy clothes (like princess jsmine, lol) all men have four wives..and that we live in a hell hole in muddy huts..
this just tears my heart apart because these stereotypes will never be clarified..

my sister in law was telling me about her american teacher who fell in love with saudi when she moved there, she said that she'd be living there for only year and sad to go back home, she said that saudi is depicted in the worst way through the american media..
but she was totally surprised that saudi women had jobs, very very fashionable, sweet and pretty..and riyadh is one of the most beautiful places she'd ever been to..

i couldn't care less if americans (or the rest of the world) like us or hate us..i just want their media to stop telling them these hideous lies about saudi and its people..

in my opinion... that a great sign but the thing that i will never forget about that day is a lady stood up and said to me

thank you because you push away all vague idea that we had about Saudi Arabia

at that moment I felt that i did something for my country

have a good day or night
whatever
